Introduction
The Three Jewels is affiliated with "Mahayana Sutra and Tantra Center (MSTC)", which is based in the New York and Washington DC areas. MSTC's website, located at www.world-view.org., It contains a comprehensive listing of all affiliates and their activities. Below is a slightly condensed description of each Affiliate taken from the "World-view" site:

Asian Classics Institute
Asian Classics Institute (ACI) is dedicated to the serious study and personal practice of the original teachings of the Buddha. The Institute was established by Geshe Michael Roach under the spiritual direction of Khen Rinpoche Geshe Lobsang Tharchin, a distinguished scholar and master of Buddhism from Tibet.
As a result of completing full studies with Khen Rinpoche and at Sera Monastery in India, Geshe Michael Roach developed and taught a seven-year Formal Study Program in New York. That program condensed the essence of the Six Great Books of Buddhism into a series of 15 Formal Study Courses to train the next generation of Western Tibetan Buddhist teachers. Those Courses parallel the same basic core of information that a Geshe (Doctor of Theology) learns at a Tibetan Buddhist monastery. Geshe Michael taught the Formal Study Courses along with Tibetan language classes, meditation and general Buddhist topics prior to entering three year isolated retreat, which concluded in 2003.
The Institute is staffed by volunteers and offers a wide range of programs for spiritually minded people of all levels, from beginning to advanced. We welcome all comers, all our teachings are offered without charge, and our teachers are well trained and experienced in the authentic Tibetan tradition. The purpose of the Institute is to provide a thorough, accurate Tibetan Buddhist education to anyone interested.

Yoga Studies Institute
The Yoga Studies Institute (YSI) is a non-profit educational institute that thoroughly grounds students in the classical tradition of yoga. The program reunites the "outside" methods (working with the physical postures and breath) with the traditional "inside" methods (ethical living, meditation, philosophical training, and correct worldview) into a powerful synthesis the ancients called "royal yoga."
Bringing together these "outside" and "inside" methods, restoring to yoga the complete set of "limbs" of Patanjali's eight-limbed (ashta-anga) practice, combining the physical dimension of yoga with the spiritual understanding of the interdependence of karma and emptiness, the program is designed to achieve nothing less than the end of suffering and full enlightenment for the practitioner and the skills needed to teach others how to reach these goals too.
YSI's Yoga trainings are grounded in the oldest Yoga scriptures, teaching an ancient, authentic lineage.

Diamond Abbey
Buddhism has truly reached the United States and other western countries; it seems clear that it will be a way of life carried on and even passed on primarily by laypeople, for the first time in history.
A growing number of westerners though are attracted to the traditional life of a Buddhist monk or nun; but providing for their needs is very difficult at present. There is no western tradition of physical support for these individuals, and almost no well-organized monasteries or nunneries in the West for them to stay. Neither is there yet almost any authentic tradition of leading western monks and nuns, in their own language, through the rigorous training required of those who take Buddhist ordination.
Diamond Abbey is a group of nuns and monks ordained in the Tibetan tradition and living in the greater New York City, Saint David, Arizona and Waterloo Canada areas, working to make the traditional monastic life a part of western Buddhism.
At present their main support comes from working their own jobs; studying under qualified teachers of the Tibetan tradition in every spare moment; and living wherever they can find an inexpensive place near each other.

ACIP
The mission of the Asian Classics Input Project (ACIP) is to locate, catalog, and save endangered classical Asian literature, and to make these texts and related materials available to educate and enrich the lives of people around the world. Over the past fourteen years, ACIP has released more than 150,000 pages of ancient texts via CD-ROM and the World Wide Web free of charge to thousands of users in more than 50 countries.
The mission is carried out in several steps. First we search the globe for the remaining collections of books and record their location and contents in catalog form. Next we copy the books and send these copies to be input onto computer at data centers we've established at Tibetan refugee communities in India. We see the project as an opportunity to help preserve the rich Tibetan cultural heritage, while also providing refugees with computer and business skills that help support themselves and their families.
ACIP then makes the books and the important ideas they contain freely available to the world, especially to those people in the West who have not yet been exposed to them. The valuable contents of the books include, for example, the nature and validity of our various perceptions; the reasons for the physical and mental sufferings of living kind; the way in which to live a compassionate and meaningful life; and, simply, how to attain the full potential of a human life within the framework of serving those around us. As the books become available on the home computers of people throughout the world, translations of them have begun to flow out and enrich our culture.
There is an urgency to our mission because political and economic circumstances in the regions where we work are uncertain and could change suddenly and dramatically. Since we cannot know how long conditions will remain favorable to our task, we must save as much as possible while the opportunity still exists.

Enlightened Business Institute
It cannot be denied that many of the most talented and energetic people in society are to be found in its single most influential segment: the corporations. The concept of the corporation in itself is a visionary example of how large groups of people can work together towards a common purpose, with a result, which is more than the individuals involved. His Holiness the Dalai Lama has said that Buddhism can learn many beneficial ideas from Marxist theory, and the same can be said for capitalism.
Imagine an international corporate community run along the principles of the Bodhisattva, who works only for others. Car-makers compete to make the safest cars with the least pollution. Breakfast cereal companies vie to produce a truly healthy product that children love to eat. Winners of the Dow Jones race pour their profits into charitable projects to uplift the poor and unhappy around the world.
Imagine employee relations based on the idea of exchanging yourself and others. Imagine if the major corporations confirmed the fact that the greatest profits come from the greatest generosity. Imagine some of the most talented people of American society, the businessmen, becoming compassionate and educated meditators.
The Enlightened Business Institute (EBI) explores the new territory of bringing ancient Buddhist wisdom into the corporate world in a realistic and profitable way. Forbes Magazine included some of these EBI ideas in an article, and Doubleday-Random House Inc., has printed a book combining this ancient wisdom with modern enterprise. The book is called " The Diamond Cutter." The corporations of America are gold mines of talent, energy, influence, and finance. EBI's mission is to bring a sane life to these institutions and to help them serve the public, channeling their wealth and muscle to higher purposes.

Diamond Mountain
The mission of Diamond Mountain - in Tibetan they call it Tune-Kyen - is to provide in one place all of the conditions, inside and outside of us, that we need to actually reach enlightenment, ourselves, before the day we die. This is accomplished at Diamond Mountain via three principle activities:
1. Living a simple, undistracted lifestyle, which gathers and retains the time and energy needed for deep spiritual practice.
2. Study of authentic classical spiritual knowledge with realized masters and dedicated fellow students, living a life of highest service to others.
3. Silent prayer and meditation, for daily and extended periods, with rigorous training, in a conducive physical environment.
Diamond Mountain is located outside Bowie, Arizona, in the northern foothills of the beautiful Chiricahua Mountains. We are currently completing study of the core curriculum of the Asian Classics Institute, caring for the three-year solitary retreat of Geshe Michael and several advanced students, and building the infrastructure to support our spiritual vision and programs. For more information on Diamond Mountain, go to www.diamondmtn.org.

Sera Mey Monastery
Over the centuries three great monasteries evolved in Tibet - Sera, Ganden, and Drepung. Each was started by Je Tsongkapa in the early 15th century. Their purpose was to provide education, training and a place for spiritual seekers. People would travel from all over Tibet to enroll at these monastic universities in order to receive spiritual training. More than 20,000 people lived, studied, prayed, meditated and practiced at these three monasteries prior to 1959.
In 1959, the communist Chinese conquered Tibet, destroying thousands of monasteries, killing millions, and burning vast libraries of sacred wisdom. Thousands fled to India on foot over the Himalayas, carrying with them what they could of their religion on their backs. Since then, with great suffering and hardship, Tibetans in exile have re-established some of the great monasteries in India, including Sera.
The re-established Sera Monastery now has over 4,000 monks living and studying there. Sera Monastery is divided into two colleges, Sera-Mey and Sera-Jey. The present Mey College has over 1,000 monks studying the Great Texts and major disciplines of Buddhism. In general, the curriculum of study includes: The Perfection of Wisdom (Prajna Paramita), Middle-Way Philosophy (Madhyamika), Higher Knowledge (Abhidharma), Buddhist Discipline (Vinaya), Logic and Perception (Pramana), and The Steps to Buddhahood (Lam Rim). These topics are usually studied for a period of 15 to 20 years.
The Great Monasteries link us with the Holy Lamas, Sages, Saints, and Teachers of the past, and cultivate those of the present. Our Teachers are the source of the knowledge that we have received, and it is because of their dedication, kindness, wisdom, and inspiration that we can offer classes and service. Our own great Teachers, Holy Lamas and Spiritual Guides, Khen Rinpoche Geshe Lobsang Tharchin and Geshe Michael Roach were cultivated and trained under the guidance of their holy great Teachers Pabongka Rinpoche and Trijang Rinpoche.
